Today we filmed a short documentary that I produced on @stepafrika at @newvictorytheater on Broadway for @americanlifestylemag - they are the first dance comany in the world dedicated to the tradition of stepping. This particular performance was inspired by Jacob Lawrence’s series of paintings called, ‘The Migration’ and was both informative and rhythmically felt throughout the body. Just landed in Dallas, TX last night. I’ve been feeling emotionally and physically drained the past few weeks and I need to be fully present on this trip in order to do my best work. I don’t feel right doing anything, unless it’s to the best of my ability, so I’m trying my hardest to push forward, take deep breaths, and cultivate the positive mindset most of you know me to have.
